Pros: This is the best erotic fairy story I have read yet… by anyone! Its compelling and interesting.
Cons: This being the first book, you are trying to get use to new terms and get to know the ‘world’

Merry Gentry is a sidhe princess, hated by the unseelie sidhe because she is third in line to the throne and part human. She was forced to flee fairy because of the numerous attempts on her life, by everyone. However, she has managed to build an interesting life as a detective in LA. The book starts off somewhat slow and hard to keep up with because I am not familiar with the terms used and the legends that Laurell bases the characters off of. However, by the end of the book I was completely into it and by the time I finished reading the book after this I was sold and obsessed with the series. It is completely different from the Anita Blake series and I think my initial problems lead from the expectation that they would be more similar. Give the series a try!
